The Patients' Assistance League (PAL), a non-profit organization under the umbrella of Texas HEART, assisted patients and their families with the business and legal side of health care, allowing them to concentrate on getting well. PAL's successes include passage of a specialty license plate, the proceeds of which aid cancer support organizations, and a cost-free helpline.
